Yankees captain Aaron Judge called for change while assessing a team that was eliminated from the postseason race on Sunday. Here's what we think the slugger wants to be fixed this winter.
Judge re-signed with the Yankees to make that happen. He could’ve decided to play elsewhere, but he believed in this organization, agreeing to spend the rest of his career in pinstripes, striving to end a championship drought that will now extend to 14 seasons this fall.
Asked exactly what changes need to be made, Judge didn’t tip his hand, responding that he’ll keep those thoughts in-house. It starts with the offense. You’d think the Yankees would’ve addressed that part of their roster after the way last season ended, but other than bringing Judge and Anthony Rizzo back, no impactful additions were made. In fact, keeping certain players around and giving them playing time was more of a detriment than anything else, setting the Yankees up for failure.
