Aaliyah's Music Is Finally Arriving OnlineThe"Princess of R&B's" full catalogue and more is coming to streaming services.The long days of yearning to listen to R&B sensation Aaliyah’s discography and being unable to are about to be over, as the late singer’s catalogue is going to be available on digital services and streaming platforms within the next couple months.
Coming upon the 20-year anniversary of her death, the release of the catalogue comes at an interesting time, as Aaliyah’s Estate is not pleased with these events. Posting a, her Estate said that the release essentially does not protect her legacy, as it includes unauthorized projects, and is occurring “without transparency or full accounting” to her Estate.
“Although we will continue to defend ourselves and her legacy lawfully and justly, we want to preempt the inevitable attacks on our character by all the individuals who have emerged from the shadows to leech off of Aaliyah’s life’s work,” reads the statement.Though it’s not clear why her music is finally being released at this time, it still comes at a point of conflict from her beloved fans who want to celebrate her artistry, as well as respect her legacy and Estate.
It’s clear the release is sure to be happening, and with “One in a Million,” “Aaliyah,” and “Romeo Must Die,” available at our fingertips, along with more, rest assured Aaliyah is staying close to our hearts forever.
