CHICAGO — Light-hitting Martín Maldonado hit a three-run homer, Eloy Jiménez added a two-run-shot and the MLB-worst Chicago White Sox snapped a seven-game losing streak with their fourth win of the season, a 9-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday night.The nine runs were a season-high for Chicago, which at 4-22 is off to the worst start in franchise history through 26 games. Baltimore began 2-24 in 1988.

Rays starter Zach Eflin yielded five runs on nine hits and four walks. The 30-year-old right-hander hadn't allowed a run in his previous two starts, both no-decisions.The White Sox also recalled outfielder Rafael Ortega from Charlotte on Friday, while optioning outfielder Dominic Fletcher. Chicago designated left-hander Bailey Horn and outfielder Kevin Pillar for assignment.The White Sox took a 1-0 lead in the third on Andrew Vaughn's sacrifice fly with the bases loaded.
