A third dose of a Covid-19 vaccine may boost protection for some people with weakened immune systems, study suggests.

Even though only one third of patients who hadn’t responded to two doses went on to develop antibodies, Wherry was optimistic about what this means for transplant patients. Wherry cautioned that it’s still unclear what the findings mean for real world protection for patients who are immunosuppressed and agreed that transplant patients and other people with compromised immune systems should be cautious before returning to normal social activities.
