TonyAwards Best Musical A Strange Loop
took tonight’s Tony Award for Best Play, with co-author Ben Power thanking director Sam Mendes and everyone else who stuck with the play for the 577 days between the “fourth preview and fifth preview” — referencing the span of time the show was shut down due to the Covid pandemic.
