Directed by Paul Feig, A Simple Favor follows Stephanie Smothers , a vlogger investigating the disappearance of her newfound friend and classy mother, Emily Nelson . Along with Kendrick and Lively, the film’s cast included Andrew Rannells, Linda Cardellini, Jean Smart, Bashir Salahuddin, and Henry Golding.

They also reveal Emily's husband-to-be, played by Michele Morrone, along with some wedding guests and decorative flower arrangements. It's unclear why Emily is remarrying, or why Stephanie attends the wedding, but with a murder having been teased in A Simple Favor 2, perhaps they will be on the same side again. Golding will reprise his role as Emily's ex-husband, and will be joined by Salahuddin and others from the first movie, along with new addition, Allison Janney.
