Lane, a four-star signee in Penn State’s 2024 recruiting class, played at the Gilman School in Maryland. He had interest from Tennessee, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Michigan and Florida.to a season-ending knee injury in September, the Lions moved Zakee Wheatley into the starting lineup and bumped up Lane into the No. 3 safety role. Lane appeared in 16 games, producing three pass breakups and an interception.Jaylen Reed and Winston are in the NFL and Wheatley is back to lead the safety room after flourishing in a regular role at safety last year. Get used to seeing extra-DB sets and that means plenty of three-safety alignments.
