Manilow is giving grants in each city on his Last Concerts tour, which includes stops in San Antonio, Austin and Corpus Christi.
One lucky high school and music teacher will receive a grant from Barry Manilow when he performs in San Antonio next month. The singer is awarding $10,000 grants in every city on his Last Concerts tour, which includes his final concert in the Alamo City on Aug. 15. The grants from his Manilow Music Project are split, with half going for new instruments for the school and half to be spent at the winning teacher’s direction.
Barry Manilow announces San Antonio date on The Last Concerts tour In each city, up to 10 high schools can submit teachers' names for consideration. The Grammy-, Emmy- and Tony-winning artist, who has sold more than 85 million albums, is making several Texas stops on his tour, including Corpus Christi and Austin. A press release said the concerts are “not the end of the road for Barry, but it is the final curtain call for these cities.” Manilow will perform at the Frost Bank Center at 7 p.m.
