A rock slide shook Garner State Park's Old Baldy Mountain on Thursday, according to a social media post from park officials.
Garner State Park is known for its gorgeous views and peaceful landscapes, but visitors got to experience more than just peace and quiet last week. A rock slide shook Garner State Park ’s “Old Baldy” mountain just before 2 p.m. on Thursday according to a Facebook post from the park, giving visitors a candid view of Mother Nature at her finest. The park’s Facebook post included a photo of the rock slide’s dusty aftermath.
“Rock slide on the side of Old Baldy!” The park’s post said. “Nobody injured. Park staff quickly assessed the situation.” ALSO READ: For first time in decades, native mussels return to upper San Antonio River According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, Old Baldy mountain formed “between 63 million and 138 million years ago,” during the Cretaceous age.
