PETA activists set up a pop up graveyard for 15 orcas and dolphins in a protest against the partnership between budget airline Jet2 with marine parks
. The demonstration was part of a campaign by PETA calling for Jet2 to sever their ties with popular destinations like the Loro Parque in Tenerife over the alleged mistreatment of the sea animals.
Last year, PETA caused outrage in another protest when they served up a Christmas dinner with a 'baby' in the middle of Manchester city centre to rally against turkies being eaten during the festive period. A spokesperson for Jet2 said: "We are aware of the debate surrounding such venues, and whilst there continues to be high customer demand, we recognise how critical it is that animal welfare standards are adhered to. It is important to note that we are committed to only working with venues that agree to uphold the highest standards.”
