Mexico’s Volaris airline will be offering direct service from the Tijuana International Airport to Las Vegas starting Oct. 29
a new flight between Tijuana and Las Vegas beginning on Oct. 29 — the second direct service from the Tijuana International Airport to a U.S. destination and its second international route overall.
The one-hour flight will be offered three times a week — Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday — on a 186-seat Airbus A320neo aircraft. It departs Tijuana at 3:50 p.m. and arrives at 4:50 p.m. From Las Vegas, it departs at 6:20 p.m. and arrives in Tijuana at 7:20 p.m.“Increasing the Tijuana airport’s international connectivity is paramount to Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico,” Raul Revuelta, CEO of the airport’s operator, said in a statement.
From January to May, nearly 5 million passengers passed through Tijuana’s airport. Volaris used to operate a direct flight between Tijuana and Oakland, which ended in 2018. Nevada is the third largest source market for U.S. tourists to Baja California, following California and Arizona, according to Baja California’s secretary of tourism.
Secretary Miguel Aguiñiga said in a statement that the new service “will facilitate access to Baja California’s tourist attractions, strengthening the cultural and economic ties that already exist between the cities of Tijuana and Las Vegas.”
