People over 65 who don't qualify for Medicare are affected by the change.
To qualify for free coverage, you need to have worked 40 quarters, or 10 years’ worth, of covered employment, or qualify through a spouse’s work history. Some others with disabilities, End-Stage Renal Disease or ALS — also called Lou Gehrig’s disease — are also eligible.
