“We’re very happy and excited about this opportunity to work with Lysol because we’re working with a major company that’s also involved in looking for opportunities and solutions.”

In 1889, cleaning brand Lysol was founded to help end the cholera epidemic in Germany. More than a century later, it is fighting anew an invisible enemy—the novel coronavirus or Covid-19, which continues to threaten the Philippines and the rest of the world today.

This mission includes advocating the importance of maintaining a clean home, washing hands, staying at home and keeping social distance, as well as expanding mass testing among Filipinos. Half of the money, or P18 million, will be used to run a major mass testing center in Cagayan De Oro City, known as the Philippine Red Cross Molecular Laboratory. The funds will go toward the laboratory’s daily operations and maintenance, as well as the hiring of more employees.

“We’re very happy and excited about this opportunity to work with Lysol because we’re working with a major company that’s also involved in looking for opportunities and solutions. That’s what we’re all about — solve the problems of the world, [and] not blame [anybody for them],” said Gordon in his speech.
