The restaurant chain is increasing production of the freshly baked treat, but removing the item from third-party delivery apps like Grubhub.
WASHINGTON — Subway, the popular fast food sandwich chain, will begin serving Pepsi products exclusively starting next year, replacing Coca-Cola in all its stores. according to a news release sent out by Subway on Tuesday.
Subway already serves Frito-Lay snacks, such as Lays potato chips, as sides for their sandwiches. Frito-Lay and Pepsi are both under the same PepsiCo umbrella, and Subway said changing the drink selection in stores will make things easier for ordering products. PepsiCo is already the company's exclusive beverage supplier in several other countries, including Canada, Germany and the Netherlands.
Starting in 2025, Subway stores will begin selling Pepsi, Pepsi Zero Sugar, Mountain Dew, Starry, Tropicana, Lipton, Aquafina and Gatorade products. But don't expect the switch to happen overnight. According to Subway, the switch to exclusively using PepsiCo beverages in U.S. locations will happen over several months. So, you'll still be able to get Coke at some restaurants for a short while in 2025. "The partnership with PepsiCo is an exciting milestone in our journey to become America's favorite place to eat, drink and work," said Subway North American President Doug Fry in a statement.
