The couple said “I do” at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden arena on Friday in front of more than 1,000 friends and family members.
“I RSVP’d to go, and then Disney hired me to do the Fourth of July 250 special on the 3rd and the 4th,” the “ American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest RSVP’d to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding — but didn’t go.
The Emmy nominee admitted to “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” listeners that he felt “kind of torn” about the decision.
“Trust me, I went through the minutes,” he clarified. “I couldn’t have done both. And the actual wedding“I couldn’t have done both,” he told “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” radio show listeners.
“Trust me. ”The “Wheel of Fortune” host noted that he verbally confirmed to Swift and Kelce in person that he would attend their ceremony.
“The irony was, after I RSVP’d to the wedding, I saw them at dinner at a restaurant and we talked about the event,” he recalled, sharing that it was his “first time” meeting the NFL player. “ was like, ‘Oh, it’s going to be so much fun. We’re gonna have the best time. It’s gonna go late,'” Seacrest continued.
“I like, ‘I cannot wait. I’m so excited. ’”The “American Idol” host was “so honored and thrilled” to score an invite. Despite not going, Seacrest joked that he has been “inside screaming” while keeping the couple’s wedding details “secret” from his co-hosts.
He praised himself for staying “very composed” on the outside as his colleagues discussed “reports about the wedding. ”Swift and Kelce wed in front of more than 1,000 guests at Madison Square Garden on Friday.
