Director Owen Harris has joined the upcoming HBO drama A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Harris, who is best known for directing the Black Mirror episodes “San Junipero” and “Be Right Back,” will direct the first three episodes of the upcomingprequel series. The title of the series has also been slightly changed, from A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight to simply A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
Alongside the news, THR also reported that the episode count for the series has been set, with the first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms lasting just six episodes. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight is based on the Martin’s Dunk and Egg novella. The short tale centers on Ser Duncan the Tall and Aegon V Targaryen , set a hundred years before the events of the main series.“A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros . . . a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg,” reads the series’ logline.
