As Alabama jumps on a plane bound for Tampa, now’s a good time to reset the situation it’ll find in this week’s SEC basketball tournament.
At 19-12, it’s been a wild ride coming off conference regular-season and tournament titles a year ago. Still, it’s all but assured of making another trip to the NCAA tournament -- the first consecutive appearances since 2005 and 2006. So let’s take a look at the numbers, the standings, the stats … all of it while the Crimson Tide awaits an opponent for the Thursday evening game. It’ll get the winner of Vanderbilt-Georgia for the night cap in Tampa on Thursday for the right to play Kentucky on Friday.
