The family of ex-NFL player Stanley Wilson Jr. plans to file a wrongful-death lawsuit against L.A. County, claiming he died because of excessive force.

“L.A. County offers its sincere condolences to Mr. Wilson’s family,” Ruiz said in a statement. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office did not immediately respond to questions about the case of the status of Wilson’s autopsy.More than 200 inmates killed themselves over an eight-year period when state prison officials failed to complete court-ordered suicide prevention safeguards.
