Destiny: Rising, a new mobile game spun out of the series, was revealed in full yesterday, and many fans are…confused.
, and many fans are…confused. Some are mad. Others think it looks cool. But a lot of people seem to be misunderstanding what’s going on here.
This project is not some sort of Sony-dictated expansion of the brand now that Destiny is struggling quite a bit. Sony has essentially nothing to do with this. Bungie’s involvement is very small. They approved things here and there and guided them in terms of boundaries for the universe , but it was a tiny team, and this is not some “I can’t believe Bungie did this instead of Destiny 3” thing. Again, this was almost entirely NetEase, and Bungie keeps referring to it as “their” game. Which it is. Internally, not that many people at Bungie have even played it or knew many details about it before this reveal.
