Strong to severe storms across the FOX10 viewing area Sunday as a warm front slowly lifts north from the Gulf .After an active morning with several confirmed tornadoes in our area, it looks like we still have some risk for a few strong storms into the evening tonight.

Most of the significant weather will be confined to the immediate coast. Storms are most likely before 11 p.m., with rain ending overnight. The forecast looks drier on Monday with very low rain chances and highs in the upper 70s. We should see some sunshine into the afternoon. Tuesday looks like a great day with highs only in the lower 70s. And, some chilly air starts to roll in as we head into the second part of the work week. We’ll see highs only in the 60s Wednesday through Saturday with overnight lows in the low to mid 40s In the tropics, we are closing monitoring Hurricane Melissa. This this slow moving major hurricane could be a rare category five as it makes landfall in Jamaica on Tuesday. Rain amounts as high as 40 inches, with dangerous winds and surge, are expected.
