New York has signed Anders Carlson from its practice squad.

The Green Bay Packers’ kicker as a rookie last season, Carlson had kicked in two games for the San Francisco 49ers this season as an injury replacement and made all five of his field-goal attempts, including a career-long 55-yard field goal. The field goal was the second-longest in the NFL by an Auburn alumnus. On Dec. 3, 2006, Rob Bironas kicked a 60-yard field goal with seven seconds remaining in the Tennessee Titans’ 20-17 victory over the Colts.Zuerlein began this season as the Jets’ kicker. He went on injured reserve with a left knee injury on Oct. 30 after he had missed a 44-yard field-goal attempt and an extra-point try in a 25-22 loss to the New England Patriots in the Jets’ previous game.
