A community is praying for a little boy's recovery
A community is collectively praying for a happy ending after a young boy was hit by a police car in Lancaster.
"The cordon was up before 8:30 but it was gone quarter to before the first responder even arrived. Everyone was screaming. There were 50 plus people out on the street. He was with another boy and he stayed until his mother came. She was there in minutes. One man, who heard the sirens from a nearby beer garden, said: "I was waiting for a taxi when my friend came. He said, 'You won't be able to get through'. He saw it all. He said a young lad's been hit by a police car.
Another woman said: "I don't know the little boy but I hope, being young, that he has strength on his side. We are all praying for him, and his mum - I don't know her but we are all here for her, praying for her little boy."
