A man from Cape Town has won over R40 million in the Power Plus jackpot. According to the winner, he found out he had won after receiving a notification from his Nedbank banking app.
, the Ithuba National Lottery said that the man played Powerball and Powerball Plus. He hit the jackpot with the Powerball Plus from the 12 May draw.
‘The moment he found out he had won, his heart was beating hard, and he had to take a few deep breaths,’ Ithuba toldThe winner reportedly woke up his wife and told her the exciting news before doing anything else. He intends to continue working in finance, pay off his home loan and invest his winnings, but he also looks forward to travelling abroad with his family.
Ithuba CEO Charmaine Mabuza said: ‘We are very excited to welcome the latest PowerBall Plus multimillionaire who played via the Nedbank app.’ She added, ‘It is through wins like these that we are proud of our partnerships with banks, as they offer players a convenient way of playing the National Lottery games.’
