Emergency services rushed to an East Renfrewshire beauty spot this afternoon after reports of a person trapped in the mud.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the emergency at Balgray Reservoir just after 12pm.An SFRS spokesperson said:"We were alerted at 12.11pm on Wednesday, September 6 to reports of a person trapped within mud at a reservoir close to Newton Mearns. "Operations control mobilised two water rescue units and three appliances to the town's Aurs Road, where firefighters successfully freed the casualty.
"The casualty was thereafter given a precautionary checkup at the scene by Scottish Ambulance Service personnel.
