Thanks to the quick work of family and first responders a 2-year-old Florida girl is recovering after nearly drowning in DeLeon Springs over the weekend.
Volusia Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene of a near-drowning call on March 12, 2023 in DeLeon Springs, Florida.
A Florida deputy ran to assist a family member performing CPR on a 2-year-old girl pulled from a family swimming pool.took over CPR, then picked up the child and ran her to a Fire Rescue crew that arrived moments later. Soon, the child was responsive and crying. She was taken to a hospital in serious condition for further treatment.
A 2-year-old Florida girl is expected to be okay after a 911 dispatcher walked her family member through CPR.The state Department of Children and Families was notified of the incident, and an investigation into the circumstances is ongoing.
