From celebrity cook-offs to holiday baking competitions, these are the shows we’re most excited about this fall
returns for a holiday-themed third season where, as always, four pairs of bakers compete against each other for a $10,000 prize. LA cupcake maven Candace Nelson and Australian pastry virtuoso Adriano Zumbo judge all three rounds of baking — cupcakes, “confections,” and cakes — along with a rotating cast of guest stars.
The conceit here is that contestants are given a bank of time at the beginning of the competition, and can strategically race through the first couple rounds in the hope they’ll squeeze through and have even more time for the elaborate, themed-cake-building finale. While, the show has a lot of satisfying baking action and a generally energetic visual style. This could be a good one to watch with the whole family as you’re waiting for that big holiday meal to wrap up.

3 Grilled Pizzas With Grilled Vegetables | The Food Lab TurboGrilling pizza is one of the easiest, most delicious ways to get the kind of charred, crisp crust that the greatest pizzas in the world strive for. These three topping combos are cooked 100% outside (no need to pull out a pan indoors before you hit the grill), and none of them use sauce, letting the flavor of the grilled vegetables really shine through.
