The listeria outbreak is the largest recorded in the U.S. since 2011, according to the CDC.

In an update released Wednesday, the CDC also says at least 57 people have been infected with the listeria outbreak strain linked to the tainted deli meats.
The current outbreak is the largest in the U.S. since 2011, according to the Associated Press. The CDC says that on average, 1,600 people get listeria food poisoning each year and of those infected, roughly 260 die.
