Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 remained hoisted over nine areas even as Typhoon Goring weakened while moving over the Philippine Sea, state weather bureau PAGASA said late Monday morning.

According to the agency, the northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan may have 50 to 100 mm of rainfall on Monday Meanwhile, PAGASA said a gale warning is raised over the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon, the eastern seaboards of Central Luzon, the seaboards of Southern Luzon, and the seaboards of Visayas.

The typhoon is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday morning or afternoon. It will then cross the Taiwan Strait before making landfall over southern China on Friday evening or early Saturday morning.
