Former Marine Marshall Winston Jr. was promoted to NYPD sergeant, following in the footsteps of his proud parents, Candra and Marshall Winston Sr., who flank him here.The son also followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming a Marine at just 19, his mom pointed out.“I couldn’t choose between the two, so I did both,” the son said of being a cop and a Marine.
“So every time we speak about how beautiful this family is, we try to mention the legacy of Rudy Thomas, and we try to keep it going,” Marshall Jr. said.
