Ulema ask govt to review decision of constructing temple in Islamabad
Talking to 92 News, Allama Tahir Ashrafi said that there is already a temple present in Islamabad and there is no need for a new one. “The government should consult the Islamic Ideological Council in such matters,” he said.
Wafaqul Madaris Al-Arabia chief organizer Hanif Jalandhari termed the government decision to construct a temple in Islamabad as unwise.Meanwhile in a video message, Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that Pakistan was created in the name of Islam. “The construction of a temple in Islamabad is not only against the spirit of Islam, but it is an insult to Riayast-e-Madina,” he said.
He said that Khatamun Nabiyyin Hazrat Muhammad along with Hazrat Ali had broken 360 idols in the House of Allah on the occasion of the conquer of Makkah. Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that they support the rights of minorities and renovation of already existing temples. “I renovated the Katas Raj Temple and first time allocated funds for the renovation of churches during my tenure,” he said.
