Police: 134 transport assists·36 escorts On the 13th, the day of the 2026 College Scholastic Ability Test, a candidate who arrived close to admission time runs toward the test site at Ewha Girls Foreign Language High School in Jung-gu, Seoul.
Han Su-bin, reporter The National Police Agency stated that in the morning of the 13th, when the 2026 College Scholastic Ability Test was held, 234 instances of assistance were provided nationwide. At around 5:43 a.m. that day, near the Paltan junction on the Seoul-bound Seohaean Expressway in Yangno-ri, Bibong-myeon, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, an 8.5-ton tanker lorry and a large wing-body truck collided. The truck blocked all lanes, causing severe congestion. A candidate on the way to a test center called 112. The Highway Patrol of the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency transported the candidate about 50㎞ to Ewha Girls High School in Jung-gu, Seoul, enabling on-time arrival at the center. At around 7:57 a.m., in Jung-gu, Daejeon, a patrol car from the Daejeon Jungbu Police Station spotted a candidate running and transported the candidate about 2㎞ to the test center. The candidate had gone back to retrieve a wallet and was heading again to the center. According to the National Police Agency, 234 assistance cases were provided nationwide that day. These included 134 transport assists using patrol cars, 36 escorts, 16 admission-ticket deliveries, and 48 other cases such as moving parked vehicles. A police official said, “Until the CSAT ends, we will promptly address noise-causing factors around test centers, and after it ends, we will actively strive in safety activities to prevent underage drinking or unlicensed driving.”
