Rosseti Group highlighted that these mining farms strain the power system, leading to overloaded circuits, voltage drops, and potential damage to electrical appliances. Authorities have also managed to thwart 130 unauthorized electricity connections, with over 40 cases currently under criminal investigation. The Russian government has implemented strict measures to control cryptocurrency mining, including seasonal bans in certain areas like North Caucasus and Zabaikalsky Region in Siberia.
