Mon, April 15th 2024 at 1:58 PM CLARK COUNTY , Ohio -- An 81-year-old man has plead not guilty to murder after a scam phone call led to the shooting death of a 61-year-old woman.
According to court records, an arraignment was held for 81-year-old William Brock of South Charleston on April 10th, 2024, where he was indicted for murder.As previously reported, investigators believe that Brock had been the subject of a "scam” call concerning an incarcerated relative, which turned into threats and a demand for money.
On March 25, 2024, 61-year-old Lo-Letha Hall of Columbus was instructed through the Uber App to pick up a package for delivery from Brock’s residence. When Hall contact with Brock, the 81-year-old believed Hall to be a threat, causing him to pull out a firearm and hold her at gunpoint.Brock would go on to shoot Hall 2 more times, before calling 911.The 81-year-old has plead not guilty to the charges.The 81-year-old was arrested last week and placed in the custody of the Clark County Jail.
