The same period saw the officials administering 23,569 tests across the country, which means the overall number has now reached 1,538,427. A total of 153,134 people have so far fully recovered from the infection while there are 88,094 active cases in the country. Of these, 2,156 patients are in critical condition and being treated in intensive care units of different hospitals.
The number of cases recorded in Sindh now stands at 102,368, making it the most-affected province in the country. Punjab is second with 85,991 cases. The figures for other provinces and regions are: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 29,775, Islamabad 13,927, Balochistan 11,128, Gilgit-Baltistan 1,630 and Azad Kashmir 1,532.
On the other hand, Punjab continues to top the list by recording the most number of deaths, which has now jumped to 1,985. The figures for Sindh are 1,713 followed by 1,074 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 147 in Islamabad, 126 in Balochistan, 42 in Azad Kashmir and 36 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
