Ahsan made it clear that the Constitution of Pakistan was the only way to run the country and he rejected using any other mechanism for the purpose.
The leaders of the two parties, however, said they could not share the details of everything deliberated upon during the meeting. There was complete agreement between the PPP and PML-N on the failure of the PTI government, they added. Any businessman, media person or political rival can be detained for three months with the period extendable by another three months, Ahsan said. The proposed legislation is worse than the NAB law and aimed at targeting the opposition, he added.
