An 80-year-old woman was found dead with a head wound in her northwest Harris County home Saturday, authorities said.
The woman’s daughter requested a welfare check after not being able to reach her mom all day, said Sgt. Dennis Wolfford of the Harris County Sheriff's Office.When deputies arrived around 4 p.m. at the residence in the 16100 block of Golden Sands Drive, they found signs that someone forced entry into the home, Wolfford said. The elderly woman was dead with a wound to her head, he added.
