Chris Evans As Steve Rogers In Captain America The Winter Soldier, Kathryn Hahn As Agatha Harkness and Benedict Cumberbatch As Doctor Strange
These eight MCU movies and TV shows are recommended viewing before watching Marvel Television's Agatha All Along. Kathryn Hahn was confirmed to be returning as her original Salem witch, Agatha Harkness, soon after her popular debut in 2021's WandaVision. Her first solo series went through many title changes before landing on Agatha All Along, sharing its name with the viral song from WandaVision.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier intrinsically connected the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in the MCU to HYDRA. While Wanda's abilities were later revealed to have been natural, as Agatha describes her as a "baby witch,"her and Pietro's exposure to the Mind Stone during HYDRA experiments on Sokovian citizens enhanced their abilities massively.
Despite their vendetta against Tony Stark, the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver swap sides when they learn about Ultron's real plan for humanity - extinction. They join forces with the Avengers, and Wanda gets plenty of opportunities to show off her incredible powers, tearing Ultron drones apart, and eventually even ripping out Ultron's own heart.
Captain America: Civil War is especially important in the Scarlet Witch's evolution, and therefore the story of Agatha Harkness and her upcoming series, because it also showed Wanda Maximoff living a normal life. Despite the controversy of her actions in Lagos, and the ensuing Civil War, Wanda had lived comfortably prior to the movie in Avengers HQ and had formed a romance with Paul Bettany's synthezoid, Vision.
The Scarlet Witch has certainly taken advantage of this idea in her appearances since Doctor Strange expanded the world of magic. Agatha Harkness and her new coven are set to continue this on their much anticipated journey down the Witches' Road - introducing another piece of magical lore to the MCU.
