An undercover operation targeting adults seeking sex with minor children led to the arrests of eight men. The operation was carried out by the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force.
The task force worked with the Tuscaloosa Police Department, University of Alabama Police Department, Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Northport Police Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Brookwood Police Department and Trafficking Hope to conduct the investigation over the course of two weeks.
- Jalan Lewis,30, of Tuscaloosa, was charged with traveling to meet a minor for an unlawful sex act and electronic solicitation of a child. - Isaac Essex, 29, of Marion, was charged with traveling to meet a minor for an unlawful sex act and electronic solicitation of a child. - Fletcher Williams, 69, of Tuscaloosa, was charged with traveling to meet a minor for an unlawful sex act and electronic solicitation of a child.
