It is expected that a western disturbance will form around December 7-8 in the Jammu and Kashmir mountains, causing heavy snowfall. The effect of the western disturbance may be seen in North India, including Delhi and UP, in a few days, and in Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, and western UP, it may be seen in 3-4 days. Cold winds from the north will move quickly downwards and spread over a wide area. Minimum temperatures could drop from Delhi to Ranchi and Raipur. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there is no current La Niña situation, so the temperature is not expected to drop significantly. It was previously stated that due to La Niña being active in the Pacific Ocean, India would experience colder temperatures, but so far, a La Niña situation has not developed. It could become active by the end of December or in January. However, meteorologists believe there is no direct relationship between cold and La Niña. The current weather situation is abnormal, with October also being warmer than usual.
