Embiid and George have been dealing with injuries of their own. The hope was that they'd be available by the time the season commenced, but that won't be the case.It's unclear how long both of these superstars will be out.After practice on Monday, the media asked head coach Nick Nurse about the status of his two stars, and he said he was unsure.'I don't really have a level , because they said tomorrow we should have a good idea,' Nurse said. 'I can't really decide that until after tomorrow's practice.'Although these two stars are some of the best we've seen in the last decade or so, they each have their own problems with staying healthy.Embiid is scheduled to miss a few weeks due to a left knee injury. The team calls it 'left knee management.'He did not play in the preseason and was assessed by doctors instead. They said the goal for him is to make it through the season and have his knee as close to 100 percent as possible.The 30-year-old has struggled to stay healthy throughout his career, and that was so different last season. In late Jan. 2024, he suffered a left lateral meniscus injury that caused him to miss most of the season.Embiid's health problems are quite evident. He didn't play in the first two years of his NBA career due to multiple foot and knee injuries. He didn't debut until the 2016-17 season and was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team despite only playing in 31 games.Embiid will not play this week.George is ruled out due to a knee injury he suffered a week ago in a preseason game against the Hawks. He suffered a left knee hyperextension and was said to be re-evaluated in a week.George was limited to an individual workout at Monday's practice, and he's scheduled to be re-evaluated later this week.George is listed as questionable at best for their second game of the season on Friday against Toronto Raptors.
