Long power outage, over-billing make life a hell in Karachi
Citizens said that 8-12 hours shutdown has become a routine matter in majority of areas, including Dalimiya, Gulshan Jamal, Lasbela, Gulbahar, Liaquatabad, Guru Mandir and Nazimabad.
They said that power supply is suspended after each two hours in Nazimabad area. They added that the power supply is suspended on the pretext of either a technical fault or maintenance. They said that heavy bills had been sent to them despite the long power outage. They demanded an end to power outage and over-billing.Meanwhile, PTI MPA Raja Azhar announced to stage a sit-in against unannounced power shutdown from Monday.
On the other hand, the power outage has caused a severe shortage of water in the city. People are moving from pillar to post for drinking water in Gulshan Iqbal, Nazimabad, Kharada, New Karachi and Orangi Town and Manzoor Colony.
