A 7-year-old died earlier this week after he was hit by a car last Thursday, July 11.
Police say the boy was crossing the street near Dahlgren Drive and Rosemary Boulevard just before 6 p.m. when he was hit by the vehicle.
Police say the child was unresponsive on the scene and taken to Akron Children’s Hospital in critical condition.The family identified the boy as 7-year-old Kingston Solomon.This is obviously a tragic situation, and our hearts go out to the family of the victim and the other involved individual. The incident is still being actively investigated by our accident reconstruction unit. Once all facts are known surrounding the incident, investigators will meet with prosecutors to discuss possible criminal charges.The driver did remain on scene and has cooperated with police through the investigation, according to a release. No word yet on if they will be charged.
