7-year-old boy, man shot inside home on Chicago's South Far Side
CHICAGO -- A child was among two people shot in a home in the West Pullman neighborhood Monday night. Chicago police said the 7-year-old boy and a 27-year-old man were inside the home, in the 1600 block of South Yale Avenue, when someone in a white Audi sedan fired shots into the home. The child was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the back and a graze wound to the head.
The 7-year-old boy was standing in the dining room when he was struck.She showed CBS News Chicago nine bullet holes in her home. Liggins recalled the terrifying moment when she had to attend to both her son and grandson.'I didn't know what to do,' Liggins said. 'It was like, I'm trying to go here. I'm trying to deal with him. My grandson is on the floor. He's bleeding out and all he's doing is looking up at me, calling for me, reaching for me saying, 'Grandma.
