It's hard to predict, but scientists are getting better at it
Love is unpredictable and, though it can be very worthwhile, it's not always easy. Sometimes, try as we might, we can't seem to get a relationship to work.
We might think that love is as far as scientific as possible, it's a feeling, an immeasurable and unpredictable emotion, scientists have actually got increasingly more adept at predicting which marriages are likely to be heading for divorce. Morbid we know, but also useful because it means we can look at these factors ourselves and use them to help us make or break our marriage.
Having a husband that doesn't work full time is also another factor that can lead to divorce. This isn't, as you might speculate, due to earning but rather due to the uneven division of labour., who found that 2.5 percent of couples in which the husband had a full-time job were divorced by the next year, whereas that figure was 3.3 percent for couples in which the husband didn't have a full-time job.
'The chance of a marriage ending in divorce was lower for people with more education, with over half of marriages of those who did not complete high school having ended in divorce compared with approximately 30 percent of marriages of college graduates.'
