From classics such as Cheese in the Trap, and What's Wrong With Secretary Kim to more recent hits like Business Proposal, Sweet Home, and Marry My Husband, K-dramas based on webtoons have been around for quite some time, proving to be successful time and time again.
Even so, webtoon adaptations have certainly ramped up in the last year or so, with 2026 itself set to bring many more series such as Delusion, Positively Yours, The Remarried Empress, and Solo Leveling to live-action. At the same time, however, there are still plenty more exceptional webtoons and manhwa simply begging for a k-drama adaptation, and it's time they got some attention. As the title implies, Trapped in A Soap Opera sees its protagonist, Jia Han, reincarnated into a melodramatic soap opera as the story's villainess, Shin Sera. As otome isekai stories generally go, Shin Sera must now redeem her image in the eyes of the various male leads as well as the protagonist of the series, who may be less innocent than she lets on. The series is, of course, acutely aware of its own melodramatic tropes, which makes things even more enjoyable. All that said, with gorgeous male leads all around and a thrilling story about survival, Trapped in A Soap Opera is a hit adaptation waiting to happen, and it could even be a successor to Amazon Prime Video's revenge thriller, Marry My Husband. 6 Want to See My Cat Where to Read: Webtoon Lovely Runner meets A Good Day To Be a Dog in Webtoon's Want to See My Cat, a wholesome regression romance that would be perfect for a live-action adaptation. The series follows Mun Chayeong who, after an untimely death, chooses to be sent back ten years into the past instead of being isekai'd into a typical fantasy world. Chayeong's goal is simple — meet and marry her husband again, reunite with all of her pets, and perhaps even make small changes to give both her husbands and her pets a better life. But of course, even the smallest of changes causes the future to wander off the path that Chaeyeong is familiar with. Even so, Want to See My Cat stays fairly wholesome and heartwarming throughout, and with the webtoon being complete, it's perfectly primed for an adaptation that's sure to be a hit among animal lovers in particular. 5 Trapped Where to Read: Webtoon While Disney Plus already has a must-watch K-drama coming in 2026 with Portraits of Delusion, Webtoon may already have its successor lined up with Trapped, another thrilling vampire romance that would be perfect as a K-drama. Trapped revolves around an ex-convict named Han Chae-a, and the dangerous game of cat-and-mouse she finds herself trapped in with a vampire named Yunsu. However, despite the blackmail and threats, the two eventually find themselves inextricably entangled, especially as their respective pasts come back to haunt them. Trapped would truly make for a thrilling K-drama and, having been completed with 203 chapters, the series realistically has room for multiple seasons. 4 My Bias Gets on the Last Train Where to Read: Webtoon With the popularity of K-dramas like Twinkling Watermelon, The Heavenly Idol, and Doona! it's frankly a surprise that there aren't more shows centered around the music industry in general. Luckily, this is exactly where My Bias Gets on the Last Train could come in. The series essentially revolves around indie artist Hae-in, or rather Long Afternoon, as she is better known by her fans. This includes Yo-eun, who meets Hae-in at the train station every night after his shift and gushes to her about Long Afternoon, utterly unaware that she is in fact his favorite artist. With the webtoon having recently debuted in May 2025, it is admittedly a little early for My Bias Gets on the Last Train to get a live-action adaptation just yet, but there's no denying the story certainly holds promise. 3 Tears on a Withered Flower Where to Read: Webtoon Although not quite the same as Marry My Husband in that the regression aspect is absent, Tears on a Withered Flower does share many of the same tropes with the 2024 Prime Video hit, with similar themes of moving on and finding new love that would translate fairly well into live-action. Tears on a Withered Flower follows Haesu, a woman in her thirties in a loveless marriage that all but crumbles when her husband Mincheol cheats on her with his colleague. All this while, Haesu has also caught the attention of Taeha, who ends up being an unexpected source of comfort and support as Haesu picks up the pieces of her life. Since its debut in June 2025, Tears on a Withered Flower has witnessed a meteoric rise in readership, even going on to bag a major award at the 2025 World Webtoon Awards. The series could very well find the same success as a K-drama, that is, if they can find someone handsome enough to play Taeha. 2 Devilish Romance Where to Read: Webtoon Whether you're looking for a supernatural crime thriller, an enemies to lovers romance, Devilish Romance truly has it all. The series follows the unlikely duo of Damon Ma and Narcissa Gye as they attempt to hunt down a vicious serial killer. Except, Damon's secretly a banished devil looking to find his idol, a powerful demon he believes has possessed the serial killer in question. At the same time, Damon also bears a grudge against Narcissa, and intends to get his revenge by making her fall in love with him — a plan clearly destined to backfire. It's truly a mystery how the series hadn't already caught the eye of a K-drama producer, especially given its similarities to Netflix's My Demon which became an overnight sensation in 2023. 1 Let's Play Where to Read: Tapas Released back in 2016, Let's Play has not only found immense success as a webtoon but has also been adapted into an anime which quite recently made its way to Crunchyroll in October 2025. Let's Play is quite reminiscent of Wotakoi: Love is Hard For Otaku with its footing in gaming, streaming, and general nerd culture, and a charming romantic comedy to boot. The series takes off when Marshall Law, a popular streamer, reviews Ruminate, an indie game by Sam Young who dreams of becoming a game developer. Unfortunately, Marshall's fans go on to review bomb her very first game, seemingly crushing her dream in an instant. The plot thickens further when Marshall moves in next door to Sam, and the two find themselves gradually getting along against all odds. Interestingly enough, Let's Play was indeed picked up for a live-action adaptation by Allnighter back in 2021, but its unclear if the project will indeed come to pass given the lack of any updates on it ever since. That said, this doesn't mean the series can't be adapted into a K-drama instead. While the Western setting could pose a challenge, it would also be an excellent opportunity for K-dramas to inject more representation into their stories, as Let's Play would be incomplete without its charming, diverse cast.
