Safiya Sinclair says her memoir, 'How to Say Babylon,' chosen Read With Jenna's October 2023 pick, is a book about a woman on the 'precipice of her existence.' In the book, Sinclair charts her path out of a restrictive household, where her Rastafari father imposed strict beliefs about how women were supposed to be, especially about how she and her sisters were supposed to be.
“This book is my journey to forging my own sense of place in the world and learning to celebrate my womanhood as a gift instead of being diminished by it,” she continues.
