The singer-slash-rapper and notorious recluse is currently holed up in a cabin on Los Angeles’ Big Bear Lake, where he spent his 28th birthday last week. After all, retreating is what he does best. It’s in these periods of solitude—two-year hiatuses between studio efforts are his pattern—that he creates his best work.
