BANGKOK, THAILAND – The Royal Thai Army has released a statement detailing its account of a border incident that occurred today, July 24, reporting that Cambodia n forces initiated an engagement near the Ta Muean Thom Temple.

The report notes that while the drone was not visually confirmed, its sound was clearly audible.Subsequently, the army states that Cambodian forces were observed moving weapons to a position in front of the barbed wire barrier. The report alleges that six Cambodian soldiers, who were fully armed and equipped with RPGs, approached the barbed wire near a Thai operational base. According to the statement, Thai forces attempted to de-escalate the situation through verbal communication while maintaining high alert along the border.However, the Thai Army’s report concludes that at approximately 8:20 AM, Cambodian forces opened fire towards an area opposite the eastern side of a Thai operational base near the temple, at a distance of about 200 meters.Relevant units of the Royal Thai Army are closely monitoring the situation. The army has stated that further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
