A 66-year-old man died after he was struck by a car on an El Cajon street late Thursday afternoon, police said.

The man was struck by a Ford Fusion on South Magnolia Avenue south of Washington Avenue just after 5:15 p.m., Lt. Darrin Forster said in a news release. Forster said the man was taken to a hospital, where he died. His name was not released, pending his family’s notification of his death.
