63-year-old identified as woman fatally shot during argument in southwest Birmingham

Birmingham police on Tuesday identified the victim as Trudy Mustin. She was 63 and lived in Bessemer.

Officer Truman Fitzgerald said police first received a Shot Spotter notification of gunfire in the area, and then a call reporting someone had been shot.

Fitzgerald said it appeared that two groups of people had been arguing all day. The latest argument took place inside a house, and it ended in gunfire. Multiple people were taken into custody for questioning. Fitzgerald on Tuesday said those people were released after questioning. No arrests have been made.
